Introducing CME for LEAD

August 21, 2023

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhance the member experience, we are pleased to announce that ABFAS Diplomates can now earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for each completed quarter of the LEAD Continuous Certification Program. To earn LEAD CME credit, Diplomates must complete all 30 questions in a quarter. CME credit is awarded regardless of MDT p-value or whether Diplomates answered each question correctly.

"Since the launch of LEAD, many ABFAS Diplomates have commented on how the program is low stress, user-friendly, and allows them to keep current with topics related to foot and ankle surgery,” says ABFAS Continuous Certification Committee Chair Christopher D. Lotufo, DPM, D.ABFAS, FACFAS. “Now with the launch of LEAD CME, Diplomates can fulfill their requirements for ABFAS recertification and receive CME credit at the same time. It’s a win-win!"

CME credits for completed LEAD quarters through 2023 Quarter 2 are currently available. Diplomates will receive their credits for 2023 Quarter 3 by October 16, 2023. For all future quarters, credits will be available two weeks after each quarter closes.

As an added member benefit, Diplomates can access their LEAD CME transcripts through the new ABFAS CME Credit Tracking site. Diplomate who serve on select ABFAS committees can also access their CME earned through committee participation through the new site.
