Case Review Dates and Registration

The 2020 Case Review registration is closed. 


2020 Case Review Timeline

November 4, 2019 - Case Review registration opens.

December 6, 2019 - Case Review registration closes.

December 10, 2019 - ABFAS sends candidates instructions for hospital/surgical center audit.

January 10, 2020 -  Deadline for hospital/surgical center audit documentation.

January 21, 2020 - List of procedures selected for Case Review is available on the PLS website.

April 30, 2020 - Deadline for candidate submission of complete electronic case documentation. You must submit by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on April 30, 2020.

August 13-15, 2020 - Case Reviewers meet. Candidates do not attend case review.


Case Review Registration

Eligibility

  • In order to register for Foot Surgery Case Review, you have to have achieved Board Qualified status in Foot Surgery.
  • In order to register for RRA Surgery Case Review, you have to have achieved Board Qualified status in RRA Surgery and Board Qualified status in Foot Surgery.
  • Once you have met your case number and diversity requirements in PLS you are eligible to register for Case Review. You can register for Foot Surgery Case Review and RRA Surgery Case Review at different times, depending on having met the case number and diversity requirements for each exam. 

How to Register for Case Review 

To get started, sign in to the ABFAS website with your ABFAS username and password. If you have forgotten your username or password, please click here.

After you have signed in, click on “Register for an Exam” on the left-hand side and follow the steps to select and pay for your exam. You will then be registered for Case Review. 

 

If you are logging in by smartphone or tablet, you will find “Register for an Exam” under the Account Overview heading.

Case Review Withdrawal and Refund Policy

ABFAS will not refund any fees if you fail to upload either the facility case list and attestation or the electronic case documentation. You should email scheduling@abfas.org with a request to withdraw by their respective deadlines.
