Personal Statement:

Thank you for your consideration for the Board of Directors for the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. I have been involved with ABFAS for 17 years as a volunteer, and I am committed to advancing the organization’s mission as a board member.

My past experience for ABFAS includes working with the didactic review group, computer-based patient simulation, cognitive exam committee, case reviewer, oral examiner and most recently as a director on the board where I serve on the  Finance Committee. I have found each of these roles very rewarding and each has their own challenges that are fundamental to making our organization effective.

My past experiences as the president of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, podiatry board member for the Department of Health and Human Services of Nebraska, and past president of the Nebraska Podiatric Medical Association has given me experience that I can draw from to help lead effectively. I also believe my practice is diversified to encompass the full range of podiatric care including diabetic care, musculoskeletal and dermatologic issues, and a wide range of foot and ankle surgical procedures. I rely on these to keep a wide perspective in discussing matters that affect our board and our profession regarding the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for certification.
