Part II CBPS Exam Content

The Part II CBPS examination content is classified into Content Areas and Case Management Areas that are the same for Foot and RRA. 

The Foot Surgery CBPS examination covers the diagnosis of general medical problems and surgical management of pathologic foot conditions, deformities, and/or trauma, and related structures that affect the foot and ankle.

The RRA Surgery CBPS examination covers the diagnosis of general medical problems and surgical management of pathologic foot and ankle conditions, deformities, and/or trauma, and related structures that affect the foot, ankle, and leg.

CBPS Content Areas 

Cases may include any of the following conditions:

  • Trauma
  • Deformities/biomechanics
  • Medicine/perioperative management (infection/metabolic disease/arthritic disorders/emergency medicine)
  • Complications/revisions
  • Neoplastic disorders
  • Neurovascular disorders
  • Congenital disorders/pediatrics

Case Management Areas 

  • Physical examination
  • Diagnostic procedures/labs/imaging
  • Diagnosis
  • Treatment (application of surgical principles and medical management to determine treatment of patient)
